Dennis S. "Denny" McLister

December 4, 1940 ~ November 23, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Dennis “Denny” Stewart McLister, age 76, of The Villages, Florida, died of natural causes at 5:30am on Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2017. He lived a full and gratifying life, and created a family legacy that was his greatest source of pride and happiness. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, he attended Schenley High School, and thereafter worked in sales and sales management for his entire adult life until his retirement. Denny was born on December 4, 1940, son of George McLister and Esther (Mihalavich). Denny is survived by the love of his life, Karen (Wendell) McLister, whom he married in 1967—50 years ago last September. She is a devoted mother to their four sons, Charles McLister (age 49, married to Elizabeth), Dennis McLister (age 48, married to Diane), Timothy McLister (age 43, married to Shawna), and Jonathan McLister (age 39, married to Janae). In addition to their children and daughters-in-law, Denny’s pride and joy were his ten grandchildren. They include Charles’ children, Madeline (age 14), Ian (age 12), and Charlotte (age 10); Dennis’ sons, Jackson (age 16) and Andrew (age 14); Timothy’s children, Kendall (age 14), Ryan (age 13), and Henry (age 9); and Jonathan’s daughters, Makayla (age 11), and Macie (age 9). Denny is also survived by his sister Margaret “Margie” McLister, and proceeded in death by his other sister Barbara Ford and brother George McLister. To everyone who knew him, Denny was a coach, a mentor, a friend, a loyal Pittsburg sports fan, a master of trivia, and a gentleman. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, an amazing father, and the best grandpa in the world. His absence in our lives was immediately felt, and his impact on us will be cherished forever.
