Gregory Paul Byerly 58, of Butler passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born October 25, 1958 in Akron, OH, he was a son of the late Lawrence T. and Pricilla J. (Bradley) Byerly.

Greg loved spending time with family and friends. He was a hunter and fisherman and was an avid fan of the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins. He also enjoyed playing computer games.

He was baptized in the Catholic Faith and was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

He was employed by the Outdoor Army Navy Store of Butler for 21 years. He also worked for the Air Turbine Propeller Co. of Zelienople for 13 ½ years and was currently employed by the James Austin Co. of Mars.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. (Brady) Byerly whom he married on May 6, 1978.

2 sons: Joshua A. and his fiancee, Kimberly Davis. Brian T. and his girlfriend, Amanda Westerman.

2 granchildren, Lilly J. and Adam T. Byerly and their mother, Christine Heinsberg  of Slippery Rock.

A brother, Lawrence T. (Dianne) Byerly of Cincinnatti, OH. A sister, Theresa (Thomas) Brown of Butler.

3 sister-in-laws: Pamela S. Hrip of MD, Deborah K. Brady and Lori Hoffman Brady both of Butler.

3 nieces: Jennifer Hrip Browning of MD, Elizabeth A. Brady of Cranberry Twp. And Abigail E. Brady of Butler. 2 nephews, Dustin Byerly of VT., and Tommy Brown of Butler and an Aunt, Sally Jane Byerly.

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife's parents and an infant brother, Jeffery. Many aunts and uncles and his beloved cat, “Precious”.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday. A Blessing Service will be held Friday at 10:00 am from the Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Sciarappa to officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estate in Mt. Chestnut, PA.
