Harold D. Foss

Harold D. “Hal” Foss, 84, of Butler passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born September 2, 1933 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Elizabeth A. Tumolo Foss.

He worked as a public administrator and an educator. He worked for the Social Security Administration.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. From 1956 until 1969.

He was a member of the Bantam Marine Detachment, Marine Corps. League, providing for “Toys for Tots”.

Surviving is his partner, Bluma Bluebond of Butler.

4 children: JoAnn (Joseph) Hurtado and Kathleen (Clyde) Middleton both of MD, Joseph (Shirley) Foss and Stephen (Carolyn) Foss both of IN.

5 grandchildren: Sandra Jean (Tyler) Moore, LCPL Joseph Daniel (Kellie) Hurtado, Luther Champ, Jessica Foss and Caleb (Ashley) Foss.

Numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rock.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 7-9 pm Wednesday. Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
