Last year at our Saint Fidelis Seminary reunion we had a moment of silence and a prayer for the seminarians no longer with us. I thought of John and wished he was with us because I wanted to thank him for helping me stock my aquarium, mostly with guppies, but sometimes mollies if his mom agreed, when we were in grade school. Seems like a million years ago. RIP, my friend.

I met John about ten years ago at the Butler Outdoor Club. He was a very friendly man and always made me feel comfortable and welcome. My wife Lisa had the privilege of meeting him just six months ago at Jennings Nature Center for a Christmas gathering. Even though you could tell John was going thru some tough times with his health, he was still there, and friendly as ever. God bless you John and your family.

Andy and I are so grateful for the time we shared on the trails. As new hikers, he shared his passion and love the outdoors making each hike a new adventure. Our deepest sympathy to his loved ones left behind. God bless you all.

To John's family- I'm deeply saddened by the news and sorry for your loss. Mr Stehle (we called him Steel) was nothing short of a true inspiration in our rigorous workout classes at the Keystone Health club. He out performed fit guys half his age daily and I'm thankful I got to be one of them. He was always kind, bright, and had a lot of determination around us. When celebrating his life, please fell assured he left a positive, motivating & memorable impression on many who's paths he crossed.

Alice, so very sorry to hear of John's passing. Have not seen him for a couple years but have good memories of him from the Outdoor Club. The mountains and birds in heaven will be waiting for him.

Certainly the quietest, most gentle of the cousins... always equipped with genuine interest and kindness when we visited. He will be missed; his spirit and goodness will live on in those he loved and cared.
