F. LeRoy Albert, 88, of Butler, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, December 3, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born December 1, 1928 in Butler, he was a son of the late Ernest C. Albert and Marie E. Angert Albert.
LeRoy was a retired cable technician for the Sprint-United Telephone Company, following 43 years, retiring in March of 1990. He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, the American Legion Post #117 in Butler, had loved sports and was an avid hunter and fisherman and mostly his life was centered around his family. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.
Surviving is his wife, Margaret Mary Smith Albert, whom he married September 26, 1953.
4 sons: James (Nancy) Albert, George (Brenda) Albert, Joe Albert all of Butler; John (Amy) Albert of Saxonburg.
3 daughters: Mary Lee (Tim) Marshall, Jude (Jayme) Russo, Joyce (Bill) Knass all of Butler.
16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 granddaughter.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fazio and the Rev. Robert J. Cedolia, Pastor, will concelabrate. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
