Mary Louise Dimmick

Mary Louise Catherine Yamnitzky Dimmick, 83, of Butler, passed away in the comfort of her own home at 12:15am on Sunday, March 19th.

She was born on November 28th, 1933, in Butler, the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna Olexa Yamnitzky of Lyndora, Pa.

During her childhood, she was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Lyndora and the Lyndora Drum & Bugle Corps, graduating from Butler High School in 1951.

Shortly after graduation, Mary started working at Preston Laboratories, where she was introduced to a young Engineer by the name Henry McClure Dimmick. Though she left Preston Laboratories for a job with Nationwide Insurance, their love survived.

In 1958, she and Henry were married at St. Paul’s Church in Butler, Pa. Together they raised two children while building up the business currently known as Agr International; which provided them the opportunity to travel & make new friends, in many beautiful places all around the world.

Mary was a long time member of St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church, with one of her most memorable religious experiences being the 2014, hands-on blessing by Pope Francis at the Vatican, in the presence of her granddaughter, Lena Scrivanich.

Mary was also active in the Butler Little Theatre & Musical Theatre Guild.

Mary is survived by her son Henry, and his wife Cindy of Butler; her daughter, Becky of Healdsburg, California; and 6 grandchildren: Taylor Dimmick of Columbus, Ohio; Hunter Dimmick of Pittsburgh, Pa; Lena & Marigrace Scrivanich of Denver, Colorado; and Nicholas and Eric Scrivanich of Healdsburg, California.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years Henry in 1997, her grandson Luke Scrivanich II (2013), and her 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 North Main Street Ext. The Rev. Nick Argentieri, Pastor, will officiate. Private entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
