Mary Louise Lucas

Mary Louise Lucas, 77, of Butler, died Sunday evening, October 16, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Born August 4, 1939 in Lyndora, she was a daughter of the late Michael Chuba and Mary Prebula Chuba.

Mary graduated from Butler High School in 1957, then received her Nursing Degree from the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She then worked at the Butler Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, and had enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers and camping.

Surviving are her 3 sons: Edward D. Lucas, Jr. of Butler; Kenneth D. (Roni) Lucas of Butler; Patrick D. (Tracey) Lucas of Walkersville, MD.

3 grandchildren: Cassidy (Zachary) Cratty, Christopher Lucas and Natalie Lucas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. “Dewey” Lucas, Sr., he died August 5, 2014; also 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean Street, Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz, Pastor, will officiate. Internment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.

St. Pauls Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church to recite the Rosary.
