Morris Joseph Steinhiser, 73, of Cabot passed away Friday, May 19, 2016 at 9:55 PM at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

 

Born November 27, 1942 in Butler, he was a son of the late Alfred James and Arbutus J. (Hannaman) Steinhiser.

 

He had worked over the years for various employers,  Mitchell Westerman, Moonlight Mushroom, Lezzer Lumber, Lernerville Speedway in the pit gate and part-time at Giant Eagle in Sarver.

 

He was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot where he served as an usher and also the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department.  He started the Knights of Columbus Council #1138 at St. Joseph. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Assembly. He enjoyed reading watching country westerns, races at Lernerville and especially time with his grandchilden and his family.

 

Surviving is his wife, Kathleen (Osche) Steinhiser whom he married May 22, 1971.

 

A son, Michael (Kitzie) Steinhiser of Hilliards, PA.

 

3 grandchildren: Michael Jr., Mason and Joseph.

 

3 step-grandchildren: T.J., Olivia and Danika.

 

2 sisters: RoseAnn Geibel of Leechburg, PA, Regina Bush and her companion, Rick of PA.

 

A brother, Walter Steinhiser of Greenville, PA.

 

Mother-in -law, Agnes Osche. Brothers- in- law: Albert (Julie), Thomas, Charles, Patrick (Mary) and James (Susan) Osche.

 

A sister-in-law: Margaret (Dave) Graham.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, James Steinhiser who passed in 1991and David Steinhiser who passed in 2002.

 

A sister, Alice Bayne who passed in 2004. A brother -in-law, John Osche who passed away in 2011.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot, PA. 16023. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Herman.
