Rose Mary Cygan

Rose Mary (Stewart) Cygan, “Rosie” born in East Butler, to Pa June 13, 1946, 71 of Lyndora, PA. She lost her very courageous battle with cancer which she fought hard at 2:10 am Tuesday, October 10, 2017, with her daughters and her little love her grand dog, Holly Louise, and her brother, by her side when the Lord decided to call her home.

She worked for 22 years at t he YWCA Personal Care Home in Butler as a nurses aid and retired, returning back to work there for an additional 16 years in the kitchen along with her daughter, Mary.

She was a very caring and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She enjoyed life and spending many happy hours with family and friends, going places, fishing, crocheting, crafts, bingo, playing solitaire and going to the Butler Senior Centers and the Blind Association. She enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the birds and animals.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church in Lyndora.

She is survived by her daughters Michelle and Mary Cygan, her brother, Tom Stewart and her grand dog, Holly Louise, all at home. Many family and friends.

In addition to her parents, William T. Stewart and Mary H. Frankenberger Stewart, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael R. Cygan, whom she married June 11, 1966 in Lyndora, until the Lord called him home September 28, 2015.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 2-4 and 6-7 PM Friday. A Parastas Service to be held at 7:00 PM Friday from the Funeral Home. Rev. Will Rupp to officiate. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery.
