Bertha B. Hartwig, 93, of Butler, died Wednesday morning, September 5, 2018, at the Sunnyview Home.
Born September 9, 1924 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Stella Luhaszeski.
Bertha was the Head Cook for the Butler VA Medical Center, retiring after 25 years.
She was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler, the Legion of Mary, was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Andrew's and had been a member of various bowling leagues.
Surviving is her son, Thomas L. (Cyndi) Hartwig of Wexford.
Her daughter, Christine (Dennis) Kerr of Butler.
2 grandchildren: Megan (Mike) Megrey of Shaler and Adam (Katie) Hartwig of Butler.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
Bertha was anticipating the birth of her first great grandchild to be born this November.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo W. Hartwig; also 12 brothers and sisters.
There will not be a public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial be celebrated on Friday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 North Main Street Ext., Butler. The Rev. Nick Argentieri, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
