Edward A. Benko

Edward A. Benko, 86, of Butler passed away Friday, August 25, 2017 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born June 30, 1931 in Butler, he was a son of the late Andrew J. and Wilma Lawrence Benko.

He retired from Armco Steel as a Steelworker. He was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora and a member of the American Legion Post # 117 also in Lyndora.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Surviving is his wife, Emily J. White Benko, whom he married May 2, 1953.

2 sons: John (Karen) Benko of Butler and Richard (Mary) Benko of Connoquenessing.

10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and 3 sisters.

There will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
