Edward D. Lucas, Jr.

Edward D. Lucas, Jr., 53, of Butler, died unexpectedly, Friday September 8, 2017, at his home.

Born October 15, 1963 in Butler, he was a son of the late Edward D. “Dewey” Lucas, Sr. and Mary Louise Chuba Lucas.

Ed graduated from Butler High School in 1981 and from Westminster College in 1985, where he also played football.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, enjoyed trains and the outdoors, was a Pittsburgh sports fan and had collected sports memorabilia. He was the primary caretaker for his parents during their illnesses which he provided great care for.

Surviving are his brothers, Kenneth D. (Roni) Lucas of Butler and Patrick D. (Tracey) Lucas of Walkersville, MD.

2 nieces: Cassidy (Zachary) Cratty and Natalie Lucas.

1 nephew, Christopher Lucas.

A number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean Street, Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz, will officiate. Internment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
