Emma L. Bresnahan, 89, of Butler passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Saxony Health Center in Saxonburg.
Born August 23, 1928 in East Butler, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Laura Christy Johnston.
Emma was a member of St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church where she was involved in the church picnics along with the card parties.
She enjoyed playing poker on Saturday afternoons, working in her garden and playing bingo. She also enjoyed going to the Meadows Race Track and had previously owned race horses, and going to the casinos. She especially enjoyed being with her family and her special grand dog, Bailey.
Surviving are her 8 children: Karen (Neil) Larsen of GA, Donna (John) McNany of Chicora, Clyde Bresnahan, Jr., Linda Burk, both of Butler, Trudy (Paul) Homa of East Butler, Trina (Bill) McCrea of Chicora, Darlene (Denis) Young and Mark (Martha) Bresnahan, both of Butler.
15 grandchildren: Melissa, Michele, Raquel, Jason, Tammy, Brandy, Luke, Rachael, Sarah, Michael, Kristin, Travis, Adam, Nathan and Lauren.
10 great-grandchildren.
Her sister, Eleanor Williams of Butler and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde F. Bresnahan, Sr. who passed away April 12, 2005. They were married March 14, 1949. A grandson,Brian Burk. Her 4 brothers; Jake, Andy, William and John Johnston; her sister, Kate Royal.
Friends of Emma Bresnahan who passed away April 27, 2018 will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 4-8 pm Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Wednesday at 11:30 am from St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler, PA 16002. Rev. Matthew McClain, Pastor, will officiate Interment will follow at St. Wendelin Cemetery.
