Gary J. Holmes

Gary J. Holmes, 68, of Butler, died unexpectedly, Tuesday evening, June 27, 2017.

Born December 4, 1948 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Elmer S. Holmes and Bertha Ketterer Holmes.

Gary worked with the Carpenter's Union building and improving many homes and following his retirement was working part time at the Home Depot in Butler. He enjoyed his dog, boating and was an avid bass fisherman.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Surviving are his daughters, Mindy (Adam) Mohney of Butler and Heather (Dan) Casey of Cabot.

4 grandchildren: Hunter, Libby, Jessica and Lydia.

1 brother, Leonard (Marie) Holmes of Wilkes Barre, PA.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Funeral Services will be at 12:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Huber, will officiate.
