Jane Y. Geibel

Jane Y. Geibel, 86, of Butler passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Orchard of Concordia, formerly of Franklin St.

Born August 28, 1930 in Boyers, she was a daughter of the late Roy S. and Dorothy Jane Farren Yarger.

She was a Teacher for the Butler Area School District, she retired in June of 1999 following 37 years service.

She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, the Alpha Omega Gamma and the Honor Society of IUP. She graduated from IUP in 1953 with a BS Degree. She was also a member of the Intermediate GFWC for over 50 years. She was a PIAA Swimming official for many years and helped found the BHS Girls Varsity Swim Team. Jane and Bob loved to travel and visited all 50 states and many foreign countries.

Surviving is her daughter, Faith (Robert) Moore of Chocowinity, NC.

Grandchildren, Lauren (Brandon) Robinson of Richmond, VA. and Jeffrey (Helen) Williams of South Lake Tahoe, CA.

2 great-grandchildren, Ella Lew and Emerson Robinson

A brother, James Farren Yarger of CA.

2 sisters: Joan Winters of FL. and Donna (Kenneth) McCall of Hollidaysburg.

Numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Harvey Geibel who passed away october 3, 2007. They were married June 9, 1951.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 12:00 until 2:00 pm Thursday. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm from the Funeral Home with Rev. Dave West to officiate. Interment will follow at St. Peters Cemetery in Butler.
