John R. Tarcha, 80, of Butler, died Tuesday morning, September 26, 2017, at the Sunnyview Home.

Born September 21, 1937 in Lyndora, he was a son of the late John Tarcha and Helen Czap Tarcha.

John was retired from the Melt Shop of the Armco Steel Plant, following 38 years.

He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora, the Knights of Columbus #866 and the Meridian Vets Club. He was an avid golfer and had enjoyed painting, bowling, hunting and fishing.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Surviving is his wife, Patricia A. Piroch Tarcha, whom he married February 8, 1964.

5 children: Brian Tarcha of Brunswick Hills, OH; Michelle (Kurt) Huff of East Butler; Sharon (Joseph) Tokarski of Sarver; Erin (Gregory) Griess of Mansfield, PA; Rebecca (Kevin) Cramer of Cranberry Township.

9 grandchildren

2 sisters: Barbara Allen of Slippery Rock and Sandra (Michael) Fazzino of Butler.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 12:00 noon, at St Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora. The Rev. William Wuenschel, Pastor, will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Devotion Mausoleum at Butler County Memorial Park.

The Bereavement Committee of St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home for a Prayer Service.
