Joseph Emmanuel Erickson, age 67, passed away from cancer on June 30. Born on August 10, 1950 in
Butler, PA, Joe graduated from Butler High School, Butler Community College and the PA State Police
Academy. He served as a Firearms Instructor and DCNR Ranger until his retirement where his passion
for conservation and love of nature transcended both his personal and professional life. An avid
outdoorsman, Joe loved hunting and fishing, particularly with his beloved lab, Tessie.
Joe is predeceased by his parents, Carl “Freddie” and Mary “Mid” Erickson, and his wife, Carol McCall
Erickson. He is survived by his son James “Jim” McCall and daughter Shawna Connors, sister Katherine
“Kathy” Chilcott, brother Ronald “Ron” Erickson (Kim), grandson Ethan and grand-daughter Brianna. He
is also survived by his nephews, Eric Ellis (Katie), Chris Ellis (Missy), their children Evan, Brook, and
Nicholas, and nephew, Ian Erickson.
A Prayer Service and viewing will be held at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler,
PA on Friday, July 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.
