LaVerne E. Wagner, Jr., 88, of Davidsville, formerly of Butler, died May 13, 2018 at Laurel View Village, Davidsville.
Born Sept. 7, 1929 in Butler, son of LaVerne Wagner, Sr. and Grace (Haug) Wagner-Dorenkamp.
Preceded in death by parents; his wife the former Nancy Kutsch; brothers Bob, Jack, and Bill Wagner; and step brothers Butch and Bud Dorenkamp.
Survived by children: Richard (Carol) Wagner, David (Liz) Wagner, and Susan (Brian) Puz; grandchildren: Tessa (Craig) Howard, Sam (Rachel) Wagner, and Rose (Daniel) Maddox; great grandchildren: Jude, Timmy, Richie, Lila, Betty, and Angel; brother Elmer Wagner; step sister Kathleen Slick; and step brother Larry Dorenkamp.
He was a graduate of Butler High School and a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired roll grinder for Armco Steel.
Family will welcome friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday May 26th at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Military Honors will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home provided by the American Legion/ V.F.W. Honor Guard. Inurnment will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery.
