Robert L. Steighner, 77, of Butler passed away Wednesday July 31, 2019 at Quality Life Services in New Castle.
Born June 21, 1942 in Butler, he was a son of the late Albert and Candace Huselton Steighner.
Robert was employed by Butler Armco Works as a steelworker, he retired in 1998 following forty years service.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.
Robert enjoyed golfing, gambling, various sports and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are his two sons, Robert F. (Danielle) Steighner of Wampum, PA and Brian (Lori Mortimer) Steighner of Butler.
Seven grandchildren: Samantha, Alex and Zachary along with Josh, Addison, Ally and Ava.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra L. Steighner who passed away April 10, 2019, they were married June 20, 1966. His two sisters, Doreen Steighner and Peggy Steighner Smith.
There will be no public visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, August 12, 2019 at 10:00 am from St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Rd. Butler, PA 16001. Interment will be held at St. Michael Cemetery in Butler. Arrangements under the direction of the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 399 Market St., Suite 102 Philadelphia, PA 19106.
