Vincent A. “Sam” Litz, 78, of Butler passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born May 6,1940 in Butler, he was a son of the late Michael and Verna Newcaster Litz.
He was a welder for Butler Armco, he retired in 1996 following 37 years service.
Sam enjoyed restoring vintage automobiles and traveling throughout the country with his family, in their RV. He enjoyed traveling to Europe and was a member of a senior softball league. Sam was also a Boy Scout Leader.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Surviving is his wife, Georgia McKindree Litz, whom he married February 2, 1963.
His son, Ronald (Dawn Marie Nou) Litz of VA., His daughter, Jennifer (Brad) Petrus of Pittsburgh.
Two grandchildren, Delia and Arlo Petrus.
A brother, Joseph (Dolores) Litz and a sister, Shirley (Donald) McCune, both of Butler.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a private family visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 am from St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean St. Butler, PA 16001. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Mausoleum. Arrangements completed by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001.
