Walter D. “Pugs” Rearick, 80, of Butler passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

Born November 29, 1936 in Butler, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Ellen M. McKissick Rearick.

He worked as a painter for Napco. He retired following 18 years service.

He was Chief Silver Fox of the Apache Tribe. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boxing and was a leader with the Royal Rangers. He was a veteran of the United States Army and National Guard.

Surviving is his wife Frances Mayer Rearick.

6 children: Kristina Ocampo and fiance', Al Campbell; Katherine (Troy) Sellers; Karen Mulqueen, all of Butler. Kelly (Kim) Foringer of NY; Glenda (Anthony) Enck of TX and John Smoker of Harrisburg. 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

2 sisters: Jacqueline “Kitty” Deal and Evelyn “Ev” (Paul) Rodgers, both of Butler.

Numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 siblings.

There will be no public visitation. A private service will be held at the convenience of his family. Arrangements by Geibel Funeral Home.
