Anthony Onufer, 90, of Renfrew passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 30, 1930 in Lyndora, he was a son of the late Thomas and Rosalia (Nezoylk) Onufer.
He was a 1949 graduate of Butler High School. He retired from Armco Steel in 1990, following 31 years of service in the plant 2 Maintenance Department.
He was a member of St. Michael Greek Catholic Church in Lyndora. He was also a member of the American Legion post# 778. He was a former Boy Scout Leader for the Connoquenessing Troop. He enjoyed woodworking and refinishing furniture and stain glass art. He was a former antique dealer in Butler.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean War, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Surviving is his daughter, Pamela Mensch of Fairfax Station, VA.
His brother -in-law, George (Shirley) Rock of Butler.
His very close acquaintances, Lewis and Terri Angerett of Butler.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Rock) Onufer, they were married January 8, 1952. Four brothers, fours sisters and his son-n-law, Timothy Mensch.
There will be no public visitation for Anthony Onufer, Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 am Thursday from St. Michael Greek Catholic Church, 610 Hansen Ave. Lyndora, PA 16045. Rev. Doug Lorance, Pastor, will officiate.Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery In Butler. Arrangements completed by Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001.
