Bernadine “Bernie” V. Chuba, 83, of Butler, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, December 27, 2020, at Newhaven Court at Clearview in Butler where she was a resident. Prior to that, Bernie had been a lifelong resident of Butler.
Bernie was born April 05, 1937, in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Bertha V. (Nemcek) Tack.
Bernie was a 1955 graduate of Butler High School.
She was married June 26, 1967, in Butler, to John M. Chuba who preceded her in death on September 11, 2011.
She worked as a bookkeeper for over 30 years for John R. Ellison and Sons, Sethi Cardiology, and Subbiah Cardiology in Butler.
Bernie was a was a devout catholic and member of St. Fidelis Church in Meridian.
Bernie was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are a son, John M. “Jay" Chuba Jr. and his wife, Lynne, of Cranberry; a daughter, Lee Ann Shoemaker and her husband, Bryan and granddaughter Sydney of Mars; a sister, Lenora “Lanny” Vavro, a brother, Martin “Marty” Tack and his wife Kathy of Butler; and survived by her two nieces, Amber (Brian) Miller of Butler and niece Autumn Tack of Clearfield; as well as numerous cousins.
We all love you. May you rest in peace. You will always be remembered for your kindness, laughter and sense of humor.
Bernie's family would like to especially recognize with gratitude the compassionate, warm and loving care the staff at Newhaven Court provided for her the past 2 and half years and Dr. George Zagger.
The family would also like to thank the many family and friends who supported Bernie, especially her lifelong best friend Flo Staker and cousin Jean Denny.
Due to COVID, there will be no viewing for Bernadine V. Chuba, who died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date when we are again able to gather together.
Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
