David A. Ciafre

David A. Ciafre, 75, of Butler, passed away, Sunday October 29, 2023.

He was born September 6, 1948 in Pittsburgh, a son Connie (Saccomanno) Ciafre and the late Albert A. Ciafre.

David graduated from Shaler High School, also the University of Pittsburgh and then received a Masters Degree in Guidance Counseling.  He had worked at Penn Circle High School in Pittsburgh and had been a Guidance Counselor at Sharon High School, where he was the head Wrestling coach for 31 years.  He had also been the Wrestling coach for Riverview High School in Pittsburgh.  He was inducted into the PA Wrestling coaches Hall of Fame and the WPIAL Wrestling Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his wife, Donna L. (Kepple) Ciafre, whom he married August 27, 1966.

1 son, David G. (Kelly) Ciafre.

1 daughter, Dawn (Ken) Bedford.

5 grandchildren:  Jacob, Daniel, Megan, Evelyn and Sophia.

His mother, Connie Ciafre.

1 sister, Mary Ciafre.

1 brother, Albert (Lori) Ciafre.

A number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Krotec.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 1-3 and 5-8 pm on Wednesday.
