Donald “Duck” Young, 70, of Butler, passed away, Monday morning, October 11, 2021, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born December 20, 1950 in Butler, he was a son of the late Charles J. Young and Martha (Hesidence) Young.
Duck was employed by the U.S. Postal Service until 2006, following his retirement he worked as a Greenskeeper at Hiland Golf Course until 2018. He was a member of the Grove City Country Club and the Chicora Moose. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed duckpin bowling and also 10 pin bowling at Family Bowlaway.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Army, where he earned the Purple Heart Medal.
Surviving is his wife, Diane R. (Ciukowski) Young, whom he married April 20, 1996.
7 brothers and 3 sisters: Charles Young, Norine Daubner, Leo Young, Dolores Stark, Steve Young, Dennis (Yvonne) Young, Linda (Gary) Ritzert, Jerome (Theresa) Young, James (Linda) Young and Joseph (Stan) Young.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
1 sister-in-law, Sheryl Henricks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Young.
