Dorothy Rock Onufer

Dorothy Rock Onufer, 87, of Renfrew, died Friday evening, January 11, 2019, at the V.N.A. Inpatient Hospice.

Born September 29, 1931 in Butler, she was a daughter of the late George H. Rock and Mary (Betty) Rock.

Dorothy graduated with Honors from Butler High School in 1949. She was a homemaker, was a member of the Meridian Women's Club and St. Michael Greek Catholic Church in Lyndora, where she was also on the Pastor Advisory Council. She had been on the YMCA Board of Directors and had been Secretary/Treasurer and Supervisor for Connoquenessing Township. She collected antiques, was an avid reader and enjoyed needle work.

Surviving is her husband of 67 years Anthony “Tony” Onufer, whom she married January 8, 1952.

1 daughter, Pamela Onufer Mensch of Fairfax Station, VA.

1 brother, George L. (Shirley) Rock of Butler.

1 aunt, Frances Betty of Butler.

Numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert G. Rock and Richard A. Rock; her sister-in-law, Lois Maxine Rock; her son-in-law, Timothy Mensch.

Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Michael Greek Catholic Church, 610 Hansen Avenue, Lyndora, PA 16045. The Rev. Douglas Lorance, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Parastas Services will be at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
