Francis J. Biedenbach, 85, of Butler, passed away Monday morning, March 6, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born January 28, 1938 in Herman, a son of the late Henry Biedenbach and Catherine (Christy) Biedenbach.
Francis had worked at Pullman Standard for 26 years until the plant closed and was the founder of Biedenbach Repair in Herman, which he owned and operated. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, also the R.C. Mens Club and the American Legion Post #778. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the United States Army.
Surviving is his wife, Beverly C. (Flick) Biedenbach, whom he married February 27, 1960.
1 daughter, Donna (Jesse) Weichey.
1 son, Timothy J. (Melissa) Biedenbach.
7 grandchildren: Jesse (Melissa) Weichey, Chris (Rebecca) Weichey,
Aleacia, Derick, Jared, Levi and Haley Biedenbach.
11 great grandchildren.
2 brothers, Paul (Dottie) Biedenbach and Charles Biedenbach.
2 sisters, Marie Fields and Alice (Paul) Young.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son James Biedenbach; 1 sister, Ann; 3 brothers, Steve, Joe and Robert; also a granddaughter, Rachel.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 10:00 am, at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
