Franklin R. Fugini, 89, of Butler, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 while at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
Frank was born on November 23, 1933 in Chicora to Peter and Marie (Piccola) Fugini. He was employed by Armco in the Hot Mill maintenance department for 41 years, retiring in May of 1993. He was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church where he served on the funeral committee and was a recipient of the Manifestation of the Kingdom Award.
He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and car restoration and especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Meryl (Rodgers) Fugini, whom he married September 29,1956 plus five brothers, Lewis, Robert, Father Francis, Alfred and Carl and one sister, Gloria.
He was the loving father of Regis Fugini of Renton, Washington, Brenda Fugini and Barbara (Michael) Krchnak both of Butler and Gerald Fugini of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Marie Kovacevic and Vincent Krchnak. He is also survived by one brother, Vincent and three sisters, Bernie Martin, Sylvia Pennington and Rosemary Rumbaugh plus numerous nieces and nephews
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 10:00 am, at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1661 North Main Street Ext. in Butler. The Rev. Kevin Fazio to officiate. Interment will be in Hemphill Cemetery in Chicora.
Military Honors will be performed by the V.F.W./American Legion Honor Guard at 2:00 pm Sunday at the Funeral Home.
