Helen D. Kriley, 92, of Butler passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at her residence while surrounded by her family.
Born March 13, 1929 in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Katherine (Hornberger) Carbin.
She worked at the Spaide Shirt Factory until she became a homemaker to raise her family.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. She did volunteer work for the Tuesday evening card parities for her church. She also enjoyed playing cards with her family.
She is survived by five sons: Thomas C. (Norma) Kriley of Butler, Kenneth J. (Nadine) Kriley of Parker, Dennis A. (Joyce) Kriley of Butler, Philip G. (Julie) Kriley of Blairsville and Dale A. Kriley of Butler.
Four daughters: Barbara (Donald “Rick”) Smith of Blairsville, Patricia Vardy of Easley, S.C., Carol (Thomas) Michel of Butler and Donna (Matt) Luchkiw of Butler. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Kriley, Jr. whom she married July 30, 1955. He passed away November 15, 2003.
Eight brothers: Fred, Victor, William, Andrew, Bernard, George, Jim and Philip.
Seven sisters: Catherine, Margaret, Alice, Marie, Mae, Bertha and Clara. Her grandson, Lance Vardy and son-in-law, Jim Vardy.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 am Tuesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler, PA 16002. Rev. Ward Stakem, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
