After graduation from Butler High School, Helen enlisted in the Marines and was stationed at Parris Island in South Carolina, where she served in an administrative position during World War II. Upon returning to Butler, Helen married William J. Rogerson on February 14, 1947 and was married 63 years before Bill’s journey to heaven on November 30, 2010.

Once Helen’s children were of school age, Helen began her career in office management at JCPenney in Butler. She continued her office work at the Butler County Park and Mausoleum, as well as Vicnor Sod Farms in Evans City.
Helen enjoyed many years of playing cards with her close girlfriends. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed numerous trips to casinos with family and friends, where on one occasion she did “Win Big.”
To those who knew Helen, she was a loving and compassionate person with a strong Catholic faith, being a member of All Saints Parish, St Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. Helen was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved and adored.
