Janet Stetzer Obituary

Janet Sue Stetzer, 77, of Butler passed away January 3, 2022 at Butler Memorial Hospital while surrounded by her family.

Born March 5, 1944 in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Mitchell and Susan (Protch) Uram.

Janet retired from the Butler Area School District as a Paraprofessional following 25 years of service.

She was a former President of the GCU as well as her Condominium Association. She was a weeky volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed going to the casinos, collecting photos of her children and her grandchildren along with scrap booking. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, fostering life long friendships and her cat, Oliver.

She was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.

Surviving is her son, David R. (Maria) Stetzer of Las Vegas, NV,

Two daughters, Maria S. (Greg) Leslie of Butler and Laura Jo (Mark) Whitney of Meadville, PA.

Her eight grandchildren: Emily Wuest, Jeremy Stetzer, Melanie Williams, Alison and Nicole Leslie, Paige, Samantha and Marco Whitney.

Two great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Blakely Wuest.

Her brother, Dennis Uram of Salem, MA., and her sister, Susan (John) Brock of Butler.

Nephew John Brock and her niece Anne Marie Gomori.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Richard “Dick” Stetzer who passed away June 5, 2007. They were married September 8, 1962.

The family wishes to invite friends and relatives to attend a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave. Lyndora, 16045. Rev. Radko Blichar to officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. John Byzantine Catholic Church.

Arrangements completed by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001.
