Joanne M. Morrow, 90, of Butler, passed away, Wednesday afternoon, January 5, 2022, in the comfort of her home.
Born January 18, 1931 in Butler, she was a daughter of the late P. Joseph McLaughlin and Martha M. (Huff) McLaughlin.
Joanne was a 1949 graduate of Butler High School and also a 1952 graduate of the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a staff nurse at the Butler Hospital from 1952 until 1977, then had been a nurse at the Clarence Brown School before working at the Butler VA Medical Center from 1978 until retiring in 1993.
She was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler, was a devoted mother and grandmother with a strong Christian faith.
Surviving are her children: Mark R. (Katie) Morrow, Joyce M. (Merle Jr.) Pears, Judith A. Morrow, all of Butler, Richard L. (Oxana) Morrow, Jr. of Clifton, VA.
Grandchildren: Lauren (James), Matthew (Melissa), Sam (Stephanie), Ryan, Sarah (Ryan), Nicholas (Alexis), Adam (MacKenzee), Anne, Anfisa, Andrea (Sean), Alysa (Jeff).
Great grandchildren: Evelyn, Layla, Weston, Lillian, Alayna and Baker.
4 brothers: Joseph E. (Dolores) McLaughlin of Richton Park, IL.; Thomas R. McLaughlin of Butler; Daniel P. McLaughlin of Tionesta and Eugene J. McLaughlin of Butler.
2 sisters, Patricia A. Sutton of Butler and Karen E. Rumin of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Morrow, whom she married May 29, 1954, he passed November 21, 1998; also her son Michael N. Morrow who passed November 18, 1977.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, at 11:00 am, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin Street, Butler. Internment will follow in St. Peter’s Parish Cemetery, Butler.
