Lois P. Mergenthaler, of Butler, went to her Heavenly home on March 21, 2023.
She was born in Kittanning on September 5, 1927 to Louis B. Mergenthaler and Lucille (Crytzer) Mergenthaler Carl.
A graduate of Kittanning High School in 1945, she was then employed as a payroll clerk at the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. She served on various committees of the Jr. Womens Club and organized the first Mothers March of Dimes for Armstrong County. Lois was a member of the Kittanning Country Club Golf league and golfing was her lifelong passion.
After moving to Butler, she worked for the County Health Department for about four years and on December 1, 1960 began a 51year career for Morgan’s Restaurants and later Morgan Management Co., retiring in October 31, 2011. She worked in all phases of the office and in 1973 was appointed Corporate Secretary.
Her interests were golfing, reading and the Theatre, as well as serving on the Gaiser Board of Directors. She loved the people in her work place and always said they were the best employees anyone could ever have.
There are no immediate services, private burial will be in the Kittanning Cemetery with no visitation.
