Madeline "Sis" Neff

Madeline M. “Sis” Neff, 96, of Butler, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Sunday morning, December 19, 2021.

Born September 10, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Joseph B. Weiland and Florence “Tippy” (Eyth) Weiland.

She was an angel who was always smiling and had loved to be with her family. Sis retired from J.C. Penney and then with her husband owned Neff's Country Store, which they had ran for 35 years. She was very involved with family businesses. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, the C.D. Of A., and the Women of the Moose.

Surviving are her children, Larry (Kay) Neff, Gary (Nancy) Neff, Carol Tomasovic, Douglas Neff and Connie Severino.

8 grandchildren: Jared (Tracey) Neff, Michelle (Joseph) Zandarski, Colonel Brian (Angela) Neff, Angela (Garrett) Mankey, Dustin (Savannah) Neff, Amy (John) Proudfoot, Todd (Jackie) Graham and Carrie (Donnie) Anderson.

16 great grandchildren.

1 brother, Donald (Emma) Weiland.

4 sisters-in-law: Grace Sechler, Doris Weiland, Shirley Craig and Grace Weiland.

1 brother-in-law, Jack Gibbs.

Many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Neff; 3 sons Francis, John and Edward Neff; 1 daughter Diana Lynn Neff; 1 son-in-law Edward S. Tomasovic, Jr., also 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, at 11:00 am, at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center. The Rev. Matt McClain, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Wendelin's Parish Cemetery.
