Michael Halin Obituary

Michael D. Halin 63, of Butler went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday December 3, 2018 at his home.

He was born on February 14, 1955, in Braddock, PA to the late George Halin Jr., Irene (Bove) Halin Adams and stepfather John C. Adams.

Michael graduated from Knoch High School in 1973. Michael was a member of Knoch basketball, golf, and track and was voted ‘Most Popular’ by his classmates. Michael attended Indiana University of PA and graduated from Triangle Tech with a degree in HVAC.

Michael was a retired business owner, woodworker, homemaker, caregiver and family chauffeur. He was a member of Community Alliance Church in Butler.

He had a strong love for the Lord and an unwavering faith. He was a devoted family man and never missed an opportunity to show how much he treasured and took pride in them. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf with his friends and antiquing alongside his wife, but he took the most joy in spending time with those he loved dearly. He was a quiet loving, wise man with a heart of gold and was always there to help others.

Michael is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Yaracs/Steadman) Halin, a brother George Halin and wife Karol, a sister Sandra Halin Adams and husband George Durazzo. Three children, a daughter Bobbie Jo Gibson and husband Michael and two sons, Blaise Steadman and wife Shiffara and Nathan Steadman and wife Tracy. Five grandchildren Megan Gibson and Zenon, Emma, Kaia and Greyson Steadman. Three great grandchildren Lovell and Lavonte Gibson and Lilyana Eichert. Three nieces Lisa Burek and husband Matthew, Kara Geibel and husband Matthew and Krista McCaslin and husband Craig and their children; Konner and Kalin Burek, Ethan and Addison Geibel and Kinsley and Kora McCaslin. His mother in law Rita Marzullo Wagner and brother-in-laws Wally Yaracs and wife Karen and Frank Marzullo and wife Catherine.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his brother Robert G. Halin.

Friends of Michael D. Halin who died Monday December 3, 2018 will be received from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday December 7, 2018 at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, PA.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday December 8, 2018 at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, PA officiated by Rev. Dennis Krajacic.

In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to Community Alliance Church, in memory of Michael Halin, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, PA. 16001.
