Michael Ufner unexpectedly passed away on June 23, 2022, at the age of 70. Born in Butler, Pennsylvania, on November 20, 1951, he was passionate about sharing his childhood memories of Lyndora where he lived for many years of his life; from his participation in Butler Little League to Lyndora Bakery Kiffles and everything in-between. A 1969 graduate of Butler High School, Mike served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and remained faithful to his duty of service to his country throughout his entire life. Mike took great pride in his work, whether his time at Pullman-Standard, building decks throughout Butler, or his 35 years of service at Fresenius Medical Care. Although not retired, Mike remained busy, continually adopting new hobbies, from building teardrop trailers to woodworking, fishing, and learning his family’s traditional Polish recipes.
Mike is survived by his wife Kathleen, nee McGinnis of 42 years, three daughters, Lenore (Paul) Seifer, nee Snyder of Baden, PA, Cassandra (Steven) McClintock of Clarksboro, NJ, and Micah (Steven) Kuhrt of Butler, PA; three grandchildren, Paul D. Seifer, John P. Seifer, and Caleigh L. Kuhrt, all the light of his life; two sisters, Michele Ufner, and Christine (Terry) Brady both of Butler, PA, and two nephews, Michael Brady and Ash Brady, both of Pittsburgh, PA.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Susanne Ufner, and one grandson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 1, at 10:00 am, at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora. The Rev. Radko Blichar to officiate. Private burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Legion Post 778.
