Paul E. Rodgers, 85, of Butler, passed away, Monday afternoon, March 15, 2021, at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
Born April 23, 1935 in Butler, he was a son of the late Joseph Rodgers and Marie (Geibel) Rodgers.
Paul had worked for the Oesterling Trucking Company, the Pullman Standard Car Company and then for the Kar-Kare Auto Center. He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and the Summit Township Sportsmans Club. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and had enjoyed hunting and tinkering with his tractors and lawn mowers.
He was a veteran of the United States Army in the Company B Eighth Battalion, Second Infantry Training Regiment.
Surviving are his children: Pam (Dave) Daugherty of Louisville, KY; Teresa (Jeff) Hepler, Rita Cravener, Paul (Marie) Rodgers, Jr., Ellen Enslen (Charles Shever) and Wayne Rodgers, all of Butler.
12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
3 brothers: Gerald Rodgers and Leo (Helen) Rodgers, both of Butler; Carl (Kathy) Rodgers of Kenei, AK.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn C. (Rearick) Rodgers, whom he married December 18, 1965, she passed November 19, 2017; 1 daughter, Darla Rodgers; 1 grandson, Joshua Hepler; 2 great grandchildren, Jayden Enslen and Caitlin Hoffman; 4 brothers George, Clyde, Rege and Ed; 1 sister Mary.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 10:00 am, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean Street, Butler. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.
Everyone attending is required to provide and wear a facial covering, also practice social distancing.
