Phyllis J. “Suddy” Gardner, 85, of Butler passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler, surrounded by her family.
Born July 7, 1932, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys (Ekas) Stutz.
She retired from D&K Department Store as a manager and was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, Pa.
She enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her sisters. She also enjoyed country western music and playing the lottery.
Surviving are one son, Kenneth (Deborah) Henry and one daughter, Karen (Lou) Osche of Butler; four grandchildren, Dustin (Cyndi) Henry, Desiree Henry (Rob) Cherepko, Jon (Shannon) Slupe, Eric Slupe; her great-grandchildren, Kaden Slupe, Kolton Slupe, Jayla Slupe, Kamryn Cherepko and Kendyl Cherepko. Two sisters, Naomi Fishel and Maryann Frye along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Gardner who passed away May 3, 1978, her son Edward “Eddie” Henry who passed away May 1, 1972 and her sister Gladys “Honey” Mckissick.
Family and friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA 16001 from 1-3 pm Wednesday. A Blessing Service will follow at 3:00 pm from the Funeral Home. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Herman.
