Richard Anthony Massella, 72, of Butler, passed away, Sunday November 21, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born October 11, 1949 in Grove City, he was a son of the late Richard Massella and Jean (Isacco) Massella.
Richard was a graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He worked for T.W. Phillips Gas Company and then was co-owner of Schnur's Greenhouse in Herman, working until June of 2021. He was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, also the sons of the American Legion Post #117 in Butler and the R.C. Mens Clubs. He was an avid golfer and had enjoyed watching football and gardening.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara (Schnur) Massella, whom he married July 25, 1980.
1 brother, Larry Massella.
2 sisters-in-law: Marlene (Roy) Thomas and Anna (Greg) Angert.
2 brothers-in-law: Jerome (Lisa) Schnur and Jim (Cindy) Schnur.
Numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great nephew, Bransyn Miles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, at 11:00 am, St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 North Main Street Ext. in Butler. The Rev. Dan Waruszewski, will officiate.
