Robert R Fiechuk “Bob” of Lyndora, PA, passed away quietly in his sleep after an extended illness on April 23, 2022 in his home, surrounded by the love of his wife, children and grandchildren. Bob was born on April 18, 1944 in Butler, PA. He was he son of the late Alex and Anna (Szwanich) Fisher/Fiechuk. He was born and raised in Lyndora and lived on the Fiechuk Homestead his entire life.
Bob was married to the late Mary Lou (Hovis) Fiechuk from 1964 until her death in 1984. They were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer (Fiechuk) Winchester and Christine Fiechuk. Jennifer (and her husband Craig) and Christine, survive him.
Bob remarried and his wife, Ellie Fiechuk, survives him. They were blessed with a son, David Fiechuk. Bob also was a wonderful father to Ellie’s two children, Joseph Berquist and Rebecca Berquist. This blended family of seven (and their Pug, Darth Vader) also share eight precious grandchildren. David (and his wife Marisa and their 3 children), Rebecca (and her 3 children and their significant others) and Joseph, (his older daughter and his fiancé Rhoda and their daughter) also survive Bob. He is survived by his two grand puppies in Colorado, and four grand kitties in PA. In addition, He is survived by five sisters, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou, his parents, five brothers, and 4 sisters.
Bob was a Vietnam Vet and served in wartime from 1964 to 1966. He received the combat Infantryman Badge along with many other metals during active wartime for his outstanding service and bravery. He was employed by Armco for 33 years. He retired as a turn foreman in the labor department in 1997. He also owned and operated Bobs auto sales in Lyndora and Bobs Auto Wrecking of Butler until the late 1990’s.
Bob loved traveling with his wife, and spent many vacations in Florida and Colorado where he was joined by his children and grandchildren. At various points in his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was always the supporting person behind the scene during all of the family and friend get togethers at his house over the years.
Bob was a lifetime member of the DAV. He enjoyed going to auctions, especially car auctions and was always working on a vehicle in his spare time.
Funeral arrangements for Robert R Fiechuk are being handled through Geibel Funeral home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler, PA. Public viewing will be Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 4 p.m. till 7 p.m. A private funeral service for the family will be conducted at Geibel Funeral Home by Father Yurii Bobko Of SS. Peter and Paul Ukranion Orthodox Church on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Interment will follow at North Main Cemetery where Robert will be buried alongside his first wife, Mary Lou Fiechuk.
Bob was very affected and compassionate about the events going on in Ukraine. Donations can be made to the SS. Peter and Paul Ukranian Orthodox Church, 21 Evergreen Road, Lyndora, PA 16045 to aid in the effort to help the people of Ukraine
