Simeon L. Hardy, 82, of Oakland Township, passed away, Wednesday March 2, 2022, at the Lowrie Place in Butler.
Born June 10, 1939 in Butler, he was a son of the late Charles W. Hardy and Elizabeth (Salvatore) Hardy.
Simeon was a graduate of Butler High School and had worked as a welder for the Boilermakers Local #154 from 1969 retiring in 1999.
He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, the American Legion #117, the Elks Club, the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club and the Sons of Italy. He enjoyed racing motorcycles when he was younger, hunting, fishing, boating and traveling to Florida in the winter months.
He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.
Surviving is his wife, Margaretta (Speakman) Hardy, whom he married August 20, 1988.
4 daughters: Lexie (Daniel) Graham, Denise (the late Paul Miller) Miller, Sue (Michael) Domhoff and Michelle (Tony) Sabo, all of Butler.
2 step children, Marjorie Berg of Glen Rock, PA and Dr. Michael Michalisin of Scranton, PA.
8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
Friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, at 10:00 am, at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church, 210 St. Wendelin Road, Butler. The Rev. Matt McClain, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.
