William J. Mariotti, 83, of Butler passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at New Haven Court in Butler.
Born March 26, 1937 in Butler, he was a son of the late Geno and Olga (Tramontana) Mariotti.
He worked as a Steelworker for Armco Steel, he retired in 1995 following 35 years service.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy. He coached youth baseball and basketball when his son participated in the sports.
He was a very sociable person, he enjoyed being around people, dining out, watching movies, watching sports, playing golf and discussing current events.
He was a veteran of the United States Army where he won a Marksmanship Award while in the service.
Surviving is his son, Dave Mariotti of Petrolia and his daughter, Becky (Steve) Hunka of Butler.
One grandson, Cameron Mariotti of Belview, PA.
His brother, Geno (Lida) Mariotti, Jr. of Butler and numerous nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda (Miller) Mariotti who passed away April 25, 2019.
Family and friends will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 East Cunningham St. Butler from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Friday at 10:00 am at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean St., Butler, PA 16001.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Butler County Humane Society 1015 Evens City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
