Sarah, I'm just now learning of Alan's passing. My deepest sympathy. I last saw him in 2010, during a visit home, I stopped in the club house and as many times before, he had a big smile and made time to visit with an old friend. Dave Blakley put it best... "One of the kindest men I have ever met". I have many fond memories of High School days gone by. Alan, you will be missed !

I'm so sorry! I haven't read the Butler Eagle until tonight and I was taken aback when I read the article about Alan in the sports section of the Butler Eagle. I hope you all can slowly adjust. I will be thinking and praying for all of you.

We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Allen. Sorry due to family issues we where unable to attend. Your family is in our hearts and prayers. He will be missed and is always loved. We will miss the golf outings and how his good heart helped others.

I met Alan over 25 years ago and had the privilege of not only working with him and the entire family,but also building a long lasting friendship. He saw my golf swing one day and said " I can't let you work here and have people know that you work here and allow you to keep doing that." Being the class act that he is,he took me under his wing and he referred to me as his "protege." For the last 25 years ,every time I came home to Pennsylvania I would call ahead of time to get a round to golf in with him. He always managed to find time for at least 9 holes around his schedule. I will certainly miss those opportunities and the catch up conversations that we had during that time.
My deepest sympathies to Sarah ,family and his vast array of friends . I know his presence and smile along with his welcoming and encouraging personality will be greatly missed. As for his time here ,I can only best describe it with one of his own encouraging phrases "Nicely done Alan,nicely done!"

To Alan's family, You have our deepest sympathy. Alan was a great man to each and everyone that he knew. When he walked in a room everybody knew Alan was there. I myself (cathy baker) had known Alan since 9th grade, oh so many good memories.

Anyone who knows Alan will miss that great smile and his always-friendly greeting. I know I will never walk in the clubhouse without remembering him saying, "Hey beautiful, how are you?" every time I saw him.
Please know I am praying for all of you in these days of shock and sadness. Those prayers will continue as the loss of this wonderful man's physical presence becomes painfully real in the next few months.
May God comfort you and give you peace.
